Help Wanted

As you may or may not know, your friendly neighborhood website moderator is pregnant and due to have a baby at any moment. This has been a rather difficult pregnancy for a variety of reasons and the next few months with a new infant to take care of promise to be challenging as well. I have been struggling to keep up with my various projects and don't see relief in the immediate future. So, I could use a little help. A few months ago I announced my decision to renew the site for another year and with that money spent, I hate to see it get neglected. That being said, here's what I could use some help with:

Events Team

I need someone to sit down once or twice a month and look through the websites for groups listed at directory.paganmichigan.net and post events from our local Pagan groups calendars on our calendar. Info should be cut and pasted, the events need to be attributed to the right group with a link to their calendar. Of course it is always ideal to have folks post their own events so that they can edit their own events, but as this is a service we provide (and in fact the original purpose for this site) I'd like us to do our best to make sure the events calendar is as complete as possible. Also, it would be most helpful if this person or persons would go on Facebook once or twice a week to announce upcoming events on our stream.

Group Moderators

We have a lot of groups on this website but there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity in them. The groups are largely independent. They are not run by me, they are merely hosted by this website. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the group moderators to keep their groups going. As a group moderator or co-moderator, you may run your group however you like. Start conversations in the forums, post interesting articles, photos and links, issue challenges to your members, start an online study group, whatever you like (as long as it's respectful). The Pagan Michigan chatroom is available for your use as well.  If you'd like to moderate a group, please let me know which one you are interested in taking over. You can reach me by email at paganmichigan@gmail.com or through the site. If you are affiliated with a business or organization, you are welcome to list it as a "sponsor" of your group and use it to advertise your activities- provided that isn't all you do.

Hospitality Team

I would love to have one or two people take on the task of greeting new members and offering them assistance with how to use the site, inviting them to post events, participate in forums, etc. This person (or people) should also keep and eye on the forums and add to the conversation as often as possible, especially if the conversation includes questions!

Chat Hosts

Once upon a time we had monthly chats on this website. I would love to resurrect that but I would like to rotate through hosts to keep things fresh and to provide new and interesting perspectives. As the chat host, you'd be responsible for setting the topic of conversation (several weeks ahead of time) and of course being in the chat room at the scheduled time. When? Up to you.
