News, events and networking for the Pagan community of Michigan
I've moved back to MI and live in Farwell. I see that many of the activities and events seem to be around Detroit, Lansing, Grand Rapids, Traverse City etc... But I really don't see many things in the Central MI area, Mt. Pleasant "ish". I've been tossing around the idea of a Central Michigan Pagan Alliance. A networking, support, event and information group for all off us who live just a little too far away from the current activities to attend.
Please let me know if anyone else is interested. Maybe we can get together and see about forming a new group in the Central MI area.
Blessed Be

Permalink Reply by Pagan Michigan on October 4, 2011 at 9:38am Hi. Just wanted to let you know about the Mid Michigan Pagan Council. Check them out at http://www.facebook.com/groups/69060189080/
Also, any events you have, feel free to post here and you can use the groups to do your networking. I could add you as a moderator to the Central Michigan group if that will help.

Permalink Reply by Gyrfalcon on November 27, 2011 at 2:22pm I'd be interested in this enterprise as well. Living off in the Thumb/Port Huron area, I know what it's like to be far away from most regularly scheduled gatherings. One thought I had on the subject was to consider trying to organize monthly events with speakers and programming that would make it worth one's while to do a bit of traveling once a month and draw in folks from a variety of areas. If the opportunity to expand one's knowledge and elevate one's consciousness proves insufficient to motivate folks to make the journey, we can always resort to baked goods. I have a bit of experience in graphic and web design, so please let me know if I can be of some help.
Namaste,
Gyrfalcon

Permalink Reply by Ashley Bonem on April 27, 2012 at 4:27am Hi Rose!
I saw your post and had to create an account to respond. Were you the Rose who came to an Open Grove Society meeting a while back? If not, you might consider dropping in.We're technically an organization for the promotion of education in religious diversity, but we have a very pagan-heavy membership, and there are usually people who are interested in celebrating or working together if you have something in mind.
There's also the Wolf Run Spiritual Sanctuary, in Remus. They have a piece of land they're building sacred spaces of all kinds on. I know they have a really pretty ritual circle, a meditation garden and a reflecting pool, and a couple of other arrangements. They're always looking for comraderie and volunteers, if you have any interest in that.
Even aside from either of those things, though, I personally would like to be involved in your group. It would be nice to be involved in a group outside of the student population.
Regards,
Ashley
Permalink Reply by Rose Szymanski on April 28, 2012 at 8:32pm No I haven't been yet but we will be coming to a meeting soon. We are really trying to get a group of all Pagan faiths to come together and help support one another. We do know Stan and love WRSS!! Hope to have time from work to help with the Autumn event.
Main idea is community outreach, community events (have a "face" for Pagan ideals with locals) support for Pagans undergoing bad times, etc... Just a few events, but also list all member's events and fundraisers, place to ask for spiritual help, etc...
We know it will take time to build, but are trying to get a few groups and individuals on board to get the ball rolling:) Blessed Be!
Permalink Reply by Bella Donna on May 11, 2012 at 5:11pm Ashley that sounds interesting. I like the idea of diversity as there are many of us that align with more than one tradition and for this reason are more solitary. Would be nice to find others same.
